United Nations Enable is the official website of the Secretariat for the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (SCRPD) in the Division for Social Policy and Development (DSPD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) at the United Nations Secretariat. The website provides public information on topics related to disability and the work of the United Nations for persons with disabilities.
As the Focal Point on Disability in the United Nations system, SCRPD (DESA) works to advance the rights of persons with disabilities in society and development, through key global instruments such as the World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons (1982), the Standard Rules on Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (1994) and the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (2006), as well as other relevant human rights and development instruments.
Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan)
Official website for a nation-wide awareness campaign in creating a barrier-free environment and for attaining universal accessibility for all. With this intention in mind, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, has come up with "Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan)" as a nation-wide flagship drive.

The Office of the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities has been set up under Section 57 of the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights & Full Participation) Act, 1995 and has been mandated to take steps to safeguard the rights of persons with disabilities. The current Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities is ShriPrasanna Kumar Pincha.
The Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, under section 59 of the Persons with Disabilities Act, is mandated to redress the grievances related to deprivation of rights of persons with disabilities and non-implementation of laws, rules bye-laws etc. issued by the appropriate Governments for welfare of persons with disabilities. For the purpose, the Chief Commissioner has been empowered with certain powers of Civil Court under Section 63 of the Persons with Disabilities Act.
The office receives complaints/representations that relate to a range of issues like non-implementation or incorrect implementation of reservation in employment/education, unfair selection, promotion, transfers, denial of service benefits and other service related matters; improper infrastructure and facilities for education, denial of admission, writing of exams, harassment, Civil/Criminal disputes, accessibility related issues, denial of cheque books/ATM cards, preferential allotments of land, petrol pumps, gas agencies, etc.
A large number of organizations and persons with disabilities also seek clarifications. If there is violation of any provision of the Disability Act or of any law, rules and regulations etc. made for the benefit of persons with disabilities, the Office of the Chief Commissioner takes up the matter with the concerned authorities and resolves it through either conciliation/advice or quasi-judicial proceedings that are concluded by passing orders with appropriate direction/advice to the concerned authorities.
Website of The National Trust for the welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities 1999
The National Trust is a statutory body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and set up under the National Trust for the Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation & Multiple Disabilities Act (Act 44 of 1999) and runs various programmes for the welfare for the persons with disabilities covered under the Act.
Website of Rehabilitation Council of India
The Rehabilitation Council of India(RCI) was set up as a registered society in 1986.On September,1992 the RCI Act was enacted by Parliament and it became a Statutory Body on 22 June 1993.The Act was amended by Parliament in 2000 to make it more broad-based. The mandate given to RCI is to regulate and monitor services given to persons with disability, to standardize syllabi and to maintain a Central Rehabilitation Register of all qualified professionals and personnel working in the field of Rehabilitation and Special Education. The Act also prescribes punitive action against unqualified persons delivering services to persons with disability.

The Institute is committed to promote rights and dignity of persons with visual impairments.
Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) (AYJNISHD(D))
Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) (AYJNISHD(D)) was established on 9th August 1983. It is an autonomous organisation under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Government of India, New Delhi. The Institute is located at Bandra (West), Mumbai. Objective of the organization is to provide research, education and support to persons with speech and hearing difficulties.
